Come to our webinar where we'll be exploring Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans and stammering.
'Research Talks' is our series of online events where we look at a different topic around stammering and what the research in that area tells us.
At our next event on Wednesday 7th May at 12:30pm we'll be asking:
- What can MRI scans tell us about fluency and dysfluency?
- What can they reveal about how our articulators (eg our lips and tongue) move when someone is speaking fluently vs when they are stammering?
- Are there differences in our brain activity when someone is stammering?
- Does this change if someone has had therapy or training to speak more fluently?
Our guest speakers will be Professor Kate Watkins and Dr Charlie Wiltshire. They'll be discussing their research using MRI to study the brain when people stammer.
