The STAMMA Minecraft Club

What do I need?

There are two version of Minecraft: Bedrock and Java. From June 2022 onwards, anyone with Minecraft can access both versions of the game. We play using Minecraft Bedrock edition because this can be played on a range of devices: XBox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC laptop, iPad or tablet. 

PCs can play both Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft. Therefore, if you are playing on Windows, Mac and Linux we recommend checking before sessions that you are playing the right version so that you can get into the Realm! If you aren't sure which version of Minecraft you are playing on a PC, you can check by opening your Minecraft Launcher. There you can also switch between the two versions of the game. Unfortunately, Minecraft Bedrock is not available on iMac.

Please note: to access our club world game in Realms from a console, you will need the online game pass, eg XBox game pass or PS Plus or Switch Online. If you join Realms from a tablet, iPad, PC or laptop then you don't need anything else extra. 

You will also need a second device to join a voice/video chat through Zoom.

Keeping people safe

We want our Minecraft Club to be a safe space for everyone. We ask our members to be safe, honest, respectful, kind and helpful. We know that if 'griefing' happens (when someone irritates or upsets another player), most of the time it's because of a misunderstanding or inexperience.

In our sessions there will be game leaders present to support your child and help to keep them safe. If you or your child sees something that doesn't seem right, let the game leaders know so that they can help. You can also email us after the session if you have any concerns at familysupport@stamma.org. 

We have a code of conduct that we ask everyone at Minecraft Club to follow and you can download it below. Please share this with your child and talk it through with them (if appropriate) before their first session.
