Join our online events where you can learn all about the latest stammering research.

We want to help people who stammer learn more about current research into stammering. With our new STAMMA Journal Club, we also want to help make research accessible for everyone.

In our regular online sessions, we'll take a closer look at influential and interesting research articles. We'll be exploring their results and what they could mean for people who stammer. We will also use these sessions to create a bank of information for our website.

Visit our Events section to find out about the next Journal Club meeting.

Hosts

Sessions are facilitated by Catherine Woolley and Charlie Wiltshire.

Catherine is Programme Lead for Children & Families at STAMMA and also works as an NHS Specialist Speech & Language Therapist in the south of England.

What to expect from Journal Club

At each session, Charlie or Catherine will present a research paper for about 10 minutes. Or it might be someone who has volunteered to lead a session on a topic they're particularly interested in.

They'll cover a summary of the paper and suggest areas to talk about. It's then over to the group to discuss the article in more detail and ask any questions.

We'll send out the article for each session, along with a summary, before meeting. If you have time to read it, that would be great, though it's not a requirement to join in!

After each Journal Club session, we'll write up notes and add them to the Journal Club Notes page. Check them out.

Glossary

Research articles can be full of jargon that's hard to understand. Download our glossary below it's a handy guide to help you make sense of it all.
