Come and be part of a 9-day residential event celebrating young adults who stammer from across Europe, and developing their involvement in the stammering community.
We're looking for three young people aged 18-30 who stammer, and who have a British passport, to take part in this year's Youth Exchange, hosted by Stamily. You will get to spend over a week in the Netherlands alongside other young people who stammer from countries including Finland, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Sweden.

The Youth Exchange is nine days of fun outdoor activities, exercises, meditations, art workshops, games and more, and takes place in Lemele, in the Netherlands (approx. 2 hours from Amsterdam), from the 21st to the 29th of July 2025 (including travel).
Here at STAMMA, we're thrilled to be able to help three young people attend this year's event. This is thanks to a generous legacy left to us by one of our members Owen Simons, specifically for supporting young adults who stammer.
This year's theme
The theme of this year's Youth Exchange is 'The Natural Voice'. Throughout the week we'll be exploring our own voices and the power of vocal expression.
There'll be workshops where you can build confidence and challenge expectations to help you explore your thoughts, emotions and inner voice. You can also take part in activities such as vocal exercises, group singing, storytelling and potentially even karaoke! Also, every day we'll explore the cultures of the different countries attending through food, music and more!
What's in it for me?
At the Youth Exchange, you'll get the opportunity to:
- develop leadership, teamwork and organisational skills
- learn about new cultures and languages
- build international friendships with other young adults who stammer from across Europe.
One of the successful applicants may also be invited to join us for an additional prep weekend in late May/early June (dates to be confirmed) in the Netherlands.
What do I have to do?

These include a couple of requirements such as being able to contribute £125 towards the event. We will cover most of the costs including travel and accommodations. See below for more details.
