Find out how the STAMMA Employment Support Service can help you or your organisation below.
Please note: this service is only open to people based in the UK.
Are you concerned about job hunting and interviews because of your stammer? Are you having issues with stammering at work? Book a consultation with STAMMA's Employment Support Service. We'll discuss your concerns and explore ways we can support you. Where appropriate we can talk with your employer about how stammering impacts you and what they can do to help.
For employers & organisations
Forget any outdated misconceptions you may have about people who stammer. It does not mean they can't be effective communicators and it has nothing to do with their intellect. 2% of UK adults report that they stammer, contributing a wealth of talent to organisations — in all professions and at all levels.
If you are unsure about what people who stammer can bring, or how you can create stammer-friendly environments for staff and customers, we can help you!
Inclusion and Diversity
Our Employment Support Service provides tailored webinars, workshops and other written resources to support your diversity and inclusion programme and ensure people who stammer are represented.
We offer bespoke consultations to help you explore reasonable adjustments for an employee who stammers and the information and support that is out there for them.
Many professions or workplaces have support networks for staff who stammer. If you're interested in setting up a stammering network in your workplace, we’re happy to help.
Policies and practices
We also provide full HR and customer policy reviews to identify areas which may be disadvantaging staff or customers who stammer, followed by recommendations for how these concerns can be addressed.
