1st February 2021
Do you live in England and are you seeking support for your child or your teenager who stammers? Or are you sitting on a waiting list for NHS support? Or are you aged 12-18?
This February and March we are offering free online workshops for parents of children who stammer, and for 12 to 18 year-olds who stammer. This is thanks to a grant from the Pears Foundation, part of the Government's £750m charities package.
We are holding the workshops on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Each one will be led by speech & language therapists who specialise in working with children and young people who stammer and their parents.
Here's what we've got coming up:
Workshop for parents of pre-school children
Tuesday 23rd February, 9:30am-11:30am
or
Thursday 11th March, 6:30pm-8:30pm
The aim of this workshop is to help you as parents feel more confident about supporting your pre-school child who stammers and to be able to discuss any concerns. It will include practical tips and resources and will answer some of those big questions you may have.

Workshop for parents of primary school-aged children (aged 4-11)
Saturday 20th March, 9:30am-12noon
or
Monday 29th March, 6:30pm-9pm
The aim of this workshop is to help you as parents of children aged 4-11 understand why your child's stammer may have increased or started during the last year. They will look at the impact that lockdowns, intermittent school attendance and reduced social interactions may have had on them stammering.

Workshops for 12-18 year-olds & support for parents
*Sorry, these workshops are now full. If you have applied we'll be in touch soon to let you know if you've been allocated a space*
The aim of these workshops is to help young people aged 12-18 feel better about stammering and reduce negative feelings associated with it, particularly where lockdowns and difficulties accessing school work may have had an impact. Parents are invited to join for the last hour of each 5-hour session.
