Workshop: Chairing inclusive meetings

Date/time range
Tuesday 23rd July 2024 2:00pm – 2:45pm

A workshop helping you learn more about accommodating people who stammer in meetings.

People who stammer can easily find themselves excluded from meetings. Talked over, missed out, or simply afraid to speak up.

But their voices are worth hearing as part of discussions, presentations and decision-making. If your meetings are worth having, then you want people to feel able to contribute. But how do you run meetings in a way that makes people with speech differences feel welcome and able to participate? And how do you do this in a way that helps meetings flow and achieve what they need to?

In this 45-minute session on Tuesday 23rd July at 2pm, we'll outline some of the particular challenges people with speech differences face in meetings, and provide practical tips and resources to resolve these challenges. That way, your meetings can run in ways that give more people the space to contribute.
