'The Silent Boy' play
A debut play about a young boy coping with his stammer through his love of silent movies, in London this August.
The 14 Karot Theatre Company are staging their debut show 'The Silent Boy' at the Camden Fringe Festival this August.
The play uses puppetry and physical comedy to tell the story of a young boy who has a stammer. As he grows up not being able to speak, he finds a love for silent movies. He is bullied every day and can't talk to his first love. The only way out is to become the lead in his own imaginary silent movie.
Writer Liam Walsh said, “I've written this play because when I was younger I had a stammer and I still do. Being an actor I have had some uncomfortable experiences, which gave me the idea to write this play.”
Catch the Silent Boy at the Camden People's Theatre on Sunday 11th August (5:30pm) and Monday 12th August (7:15pm). Tickets cost £8. To book, and for more information, visit their website here.
