Are you a parent/guardian of a child who has had/is having therapy for stammering?

If so, Caroline from Manchester Metropolitan University would love to interview you as part of her research project.

Caroline says, "The goal of this project is to learn about parents' lived experiences of their child's therapy. Despite their crucial role, it's an area few research studies have investigated.

'The main questions I aim to answer are:

  1. Do you feel satisfied by your child's stammering therapy?

  2. What factors influence satisfaction of your child's stammering therapy?"

What's involved?

Caroline invites you to join her for a 30 to 45-minute online interview over Microsoft Teams.

To take part, you need to be:

  • a parent or guardian of a child who received/is receiving speech & language therapy for stammering when they were/are under seven years of age.
  • currently undergoing either NHS or private stammering therapy or has undergone any form of stammering therapy (completed or not) in the past ten years.
  • over 18 yourself.

If you would like to help Caroline with her research, please email her at 07739216@stu.mmu.ac.uk

This study runs until the 18th May 2026.
