Announcing Family Day 2025

We've got something special planned for children who stammer and their families this October...
Since 2018, we've hosted a 'Family Day' event every two years, as part of our STAMMAFest conference.
This is where we bring young people who stammer together to create a space where stammering is the norm, not the exception. A place where they and their families can connect in person. Where they can share experiences and stammer without fear of being judged.
But we know that one day every two years is just not enough!
So, this October, to celebrate International Stammering Awareness Day we're hosting a special Family Day all of its own. We want this to be the first step towards creating an annual event for families.
[My son] had an amazing day! He loved the activities and meeting other children like him who stammer, he's also kept in touch with some of the children with hopes of meeting again someday. We would love to do this again at some point!

What's the Plan?
Our Family Day 2025 is taking place at The Diamond, at the University of Sheffield on Saturday 25th October. You can come along for the whole day, or just the morning session.
During the day we'll be running a series of activity sessions for children and young people aged 5 to 16 across three age groups. Previous sessions have included circus skills and drawing comic strips. There's also been Lego building, playing drama games and more!
It's all aimed at helping children meet others who stammer and boosting their self-confidence.

But it's not just for the children…
For parents and guardians, there'll be short talks and Q&A sessions about stammering. We want you to get to meet other families, ask questions and explore what it's like to have a child who stammers.
