Speech & Language Therapy Peer Support Network

The Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) Peer Support Network aims to support SLTs with an interest in stammering.

In online sessions throughout the year, our aim is to:

  • link therapists together across different localities and share best practice.
  • explore different service delivery models and how provision differs across the UK.
  • support SLTs who are reviewing or developing stammering service provision in their Trust or practice.

We want this to be a safe space for SLTs to share information about their own service and learn from each other’s experiences. Over time we want to create a place where people can share resources and ask questions about their practice. While we may disseminate recent research findings or explore new evidence-based practice, the aim for this group is to explore and support service provision.

If you are an SLT interested in stammering and would like to get involved, email catherine.woolley@stamma.org for more information and to be added to our mailing list.

Please Note: The Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists also has a series of both national and local Clinical Excellence Networks (CENs) which aim to support SLTs who work with people who stammer. If you would like to learn more about clinical skills involved in stammering support or developing your practice as an SLT, visit the RCSLT website to learn more, or visit National Stammering CEN to learn more about local CENs in your area.
