Free practice interviews: 50 Million Voices
Free online interview practice for people who stammer.
Date: 21st-22nd October 2020
Location: Online
Cost: Free
As we know, people who stammer can find interviews for new jobs, promotions or staff appraisals very difficult.
Which is why, during this time of great uncertainty, 50 Million Voices are organising free online practice interviews on 21st and 22nd October for people who stammer from age 18 upwards and from all backgrounds, who want to practice being interviewed, interviewing other people, or both.
50 Million Voices Chair Iain Wilkie says, "We hope that this opportunity to practice interviews in a safe and confidential environment, whether as interviewees or interviewers, will appeal to people who stammer. We believe this is a great opportunity to improve interview skills and confidence — leading to enhanced job and career prospects.
How will it work?
The practice interviews will take place online using your preferred video calling platform (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc).
You'll be required to attend a briefing session for all participants, led by Pamela Mertz, who has led similar events for employees at several leading Wall Street banks, and Sam Simpson, a speech & language therapist with extensive experience of working with adults who stammer in the workplace.
You will then be allocated an interview partner for each of your interviews and then you will arrange your interviews at times that suit you and them.
You will receive individual feedback and there'll be a chance to share your experience and feedback with others.
