The Fluency Trust therapy/outdoor courses for 10-17 year olds
Courses combining stammering therapy with outdoor activities for young people aged 10-17, by the Fluency Trust.
The Fluency Trust, in partnership with Swindon Borough Council, provides annual courses for 10-17 year-olds. Their Blockbuster course (for 10-12 year-olds) and Teen’s Challenge course (13-17 year-olds) run alongside each other and include:
- an assessment day, held in Swindon: (Sat 4th or Sun 5th July)
- a five-day residential course, held at Skern Lodge Activity Centre, Devon: (Mon 27th July to Fri 31st July)
- a follow-up day: (Sat 3rd October)
- a report, liaison with professionals.
The Fluency Trust says, 'The combination of challenging outdoor activities and intensive therapy work to develop greater confidence and self-esteem. These are vital factors in dealing with the emotional and physical challenges of stammering'.
