Volunteers needed: Affiliation Admin Support

We're looking for volunteers with admin experience for our new Affiliation programme. Could it be you?

Here at STAMMA, we've launched a programme to develop long-term relationships with organisations. Through these relationships we want to help those organisations think about staff and customers who stammer when developing their procedures.

To help with this we're looking for someone who can provide admin support. Admin is the key to making affiliation work, to reaching out to potential affiliates, and to making sure we deliver our affiliates what we promised.

This is an opportunity to really make a difference, to change the world around us! Over the next few months we'll be reaching out to health & social care organisations, diversity and inclusion hubs, and call centres. 

So if you're good at emails, detail and following up on tasks, and have a few hours to spare each month, we'd love to chat with you!

Basic information

Hours: 2-3 hours per week.
Day & time: The hours can be worked at your convenience, but will ideally be split across two sessions per week so that you can check the email inbox regularly.
Location: Home-based.

What does the role involve?

  • Writing and responding to emails.
  • Reaching out to potential affiliates and explaining our offer.
  • Registering new affiliates and making sure they receive newsletters and workshop details in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing sign-up rates and feedback from workshop attendees.
  • Sending out slides and resources to workshop attendees.
  • Following up on queries or questions from potential affiliates.
  • Chasing up affiliates who haven't signed their agreement.
  • There's also the opportunity to contribute to the planning and content for quarterly newsletters.

What support would you get?

You'll be supported by our Service Director Kirsten Howells, and will have regular contact with her to plan and review. 

If you're available on Mondays at 2pm, there's also the opportunity to attend the weekly online Employment Support Service meetings, where we review and plan all of our upcoming activities and engagement with organisations.

  • want to contribute to change.

Other information

You will need to have access to your own computer or laptop.

As a volunteer you can, of course, step back from the role at any time. However, both you and the service are likely to get most out of the opportunity if you're able to volunteer with us for at least 12 months. By having that consistency in the role, you can have the biggest impact.

This is a volunteer role and is unpaid.
