For its next issue, the magazine about stammering invites you submit something about your own experience.

Dysfluent is an independent magazine that explores the lived experience of stammering through interviews, essays, fiction, poetry, visual artwork and more.

The award-winning magazine uses a typeface that stretches and repeats its letters, representing the voices of people who stammer.

For its third issue, Dysfluent wants to create a contemporary and global snapshot of stammering today; to capture a moment in stammering history that truly resonates with and belongs to the community.

To achieve this, the magazine invites you to submit something around the question:

  • What does stammering mean right now?

They've intentionally left it open to interpretation, so you can submit something that expresses whatever you want to say or whatever you're feeling/thinking about stammering. It could be poetry, fiction, an article or essay (of up to 1,500 words), or any form of visual art.

Use this form to make your submission, and to read more details.

The deadline to submit something is 11:59pm on Friday 31st July 2026.

Font reads: ‘Why submit to Dysfluent issue 3?’. The ‘s’ and ‘i’ are stretched and repeated to represent stammering. An abrupt graphic line appears, to represent stammering. In smaller font dotted around is: ‘be part of stammering culture’; ‘your voice in a stammering font’; ‘receive compensation’; ‘global readership’; ‘submissions close 31 July’; and ‘dysfluent.org/submit’.
