Support our 2.6 Challenge Fundraisers
24th April 2020
Meet the fundraisers taking on the 2.6 Challenge this week for Stamma. So far they've raised over £750! Please support them by giving anything you can, or join the team and set yourself a challenge.
The cancellation of fundraising events due to the Covid-19 outbreak has meant charities like us are taking a big hit financially (read about how Stamma is being impacted).
Step forward our awesome members who have set themselves a task for the 2.6 Challenge this week, each involving the numbers 2.6 or 26, to help raise funds for Stamma.
John’s Garden walk/press-ups week
Each day this week, John Russell is walking round his garden for 26 minutes followed by 26 press-ups. John's one of our star fundraisers and has done so much for our charity over the years, including parachute jumps, 10k runs and supermarket collections. You can donate to John's JustGiving page here.
Antoinette's 26-mile walk
Antoinette Okonkwo is walking 26 miles over 10 days to raise money for Stamma and Mind. She says, "Over the years, stammering has been a huge challenge for me and I have felt like there are some things I have not been able to do because I stammer. I never really sought help but just recently I took the first step and signed up to speech therapy." You can support Antoinette via her Virgin Money page here.
Adam & Callum's crossbar/forward rolls
Adam & Callum Smith set themselves very sporty challenges yesterday: Adam's was to hit the crossbar with his football 26 times and Callum did 26 forward rolls. Well done both of you! You can still donate to them for their efforts via Adam & Callum's JustGiving page.
Callum’s 2.6 hr live podcast
Callum Schofield did a live Facebook streaming of his podcast 'The Schofield Stories' for 2.6 hours, which you can watch here. He says, 'Please donate anything at all, or if not tune in, like, comment and share.' You can support Callum through his JustGiving page here.
Jack’s guitar challenge
Jack Dempsey demonstrated his musical chops with 52 minutes of guitar playing (26 minutes of bass, 26 minutes of guitar). Jack says, 'Admittedly I’m an amateur and this is just a bit of fun. Hope you enjoy it and please donate if you wish.' To support Jack, see his JustGiving page.
Our Chair's phone challenge
The Stamma Chair, Tim Fell, has set himself a unique challenge. Make a donation and you could win a trip to London. Find out more here.
Take up the challenge yourself
There's still time to set yourself a challenge. Email us at mail@stamma.org with your ideas.
Thank you so much to all our fundraisers, we couldn’t do what we do without you. Please support them if you can. #TwoPointSixChallenge
