We are delighted to announce that Roger Pim is the new Chair of STAMMA.

Roger was appointed Chair Elect in July and has now officially taken over from Paul Fix, Acting Chair since 2023.

Born in Northern Ireland, Roger now lives in Edinburgh where he works in infrastructure finance, focusing on renewable energy and de-carbonisation strategies across Europe.

Roger says, "Growing up, I had a very severe stammer and during my teenage years I struggled to speak at all. I have been very fortunate and with the loving support of family, friends and the wider stammering community I've been able to pursue my dreams".

As Chair, Roger will work closely with other Trustees and the STAMMA Senior Leadership Team to help develop and continue our strategy. Roger added, "I look forward to working with the Chief Executive and Trustees to build on the fantastic work undertaken to date".

Paul Fix, who has served as Interim Vice Chair since 2023 after Joanna Gaukroger stepped down due to ill health, commented, "It has been an absolute privilege to be Acting Chair at STAMMA for the past year. I am delighted to have Roger join the team, along with our newly appointed Trustees as we start to deliver on our three-year strategy creating 'Space to Stammer'. Roger brings financial acumen and a passion for challenging discrimination, along with lived experience as someone who stammers".

We hope you join us in welcoming Roger to the role, and we thank Paul Fix for his excellent work as Acting Chair over this last year.
