What terms do you prefer to use when it comes to speech & language therapy? Mahmoud Elsherif from the University of Leicester invites you take part in his online study.

Mahmoud and his team are exploring how different words can affect peoples' views of speech & language therapy. They are asking asking English speakers worldwide to take part in a short online survey, where you can share your preferred terms and explain why. It will only take around 15 minutes.

Mahmoud says, "The aim of our study is to promote respectful and inclusive language, reduce stigmatisation and empower the community".

You need to be aged 18+ to take part. Complete the survey and you'll be entered into a prize draw, where you could win £25. Just click on the link below to take part.

Access Mahmoud's Language Preferences online survey.

The survey is open until August 2025.
