Celebrating those who have gone above and beyond for the stammering community in 2022, as voted for by you.
To round off an amazing year which saw our first conference in four years, STAMMAFest Global, and the conclusion of our No Diversity Without Disfluency campaign, we gave you the chance to highlight the great work done by others and nominate your STAMMA Superstars of 2022.
A huge thanks to everyone who took part. We've split your nominations into four categories: Unsung Heroes, Personal Impact, Inspirational Influencers and Amazing Allies. Watch the slideshows for each category below and click let and right to find out who was nominated and why.
Please note: some people nominated the STAMMA staff team or individual members — thank you so much but we wanted the focus to be on others so we haven't included those. To preserve the anonymity of our helpline volunteers, we've also left out any nominations for them, but we have let individuals know they were nominated.
We also had an email from Alex Ford, a speech & language therapist from the Fluency Trust, which runs residential outward bound/therapy courses for children who stammer. Alex wanted to tell us about Annabel, who attended one of their courses this summer but sadly passed away in October, aged 11. Alex says, "Annabel was an inspiration to all. She had a beautiful, kind soul. She was gentle, phenomenally bright, fun and always inclusive of everyone. She touched so many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Her parents Josie and Craig have since raised over £5000 for The Fluency Trust to share the legacy Annabel has left the stammering community and the impact she has made on so many lives in the future".

Well done to everyone mentioned in our list of STAMMA Superstars. And thanks to you for supporting us and our work this year. We've got big things planned for 2023 so stay tuned and get involved!
