Not every space needs to be filled

One of the biggest challenges people who stammer face is being interrupted or having others try to finish our sentences.

Our 2026 campaign posters shine a light on that behaviour, encouraging others to simply give people who stammer the space and time they need.

With pro-bono help from global marketing agency IRIS, we bring this to life by emphasising that space and time. Our simple, largely blank adverts show we don't need to fill those gaps, with the message 'Not every space needs to be filled… give people who stammer time to speak'.

Our posters have gone up in Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester thanks to JC Decaux.

If you spot one in the wild, we'd love to see it. Please take a snap and send it to editor@stamma.org
