Ready to embrace the sunshine and make a difference? Be part of STAMMA history and join our very first 'It's How We Walk' throughout June!

Spring is here, and we're calling on all our members and supporters to step out for a walk, hike, roll, ramble or run while raising funds for STAMMA together!

Inspired by Dean Ridge, co-leader of STAMMA Striders and Trustee of STAMMA, we're calling on all our members to do a fundraiser in June to help support our services for people who stammer.

Donate or sign up your event

There are two ways to get involved. You can donate to our It's How We Walk fundraising campaign. (All donations go towards our Support Services for people who stammer.)

Or you can sign up your own event. The theme is 'walking' but you can jog, run or hike. Dean has set himself a goal of walking 300km over June but you can set your own route or activity. There's no fundraising target. Click the button below to sign up.

The registration fee is £5 for individuals or £20 if you sign up as a team (of 5 members or more).

We'll send you a welcome pack with details about how to join our Strava Club and Facebook Group, and buy a t-shirt.

If you want to go solo that's fine. If you'd be up for company, we can publicise your event so that others in your area can join you.

Under 18s need consent from a parent/guardian to take part. Please download and read our disclaimer too.

Bonus

If you sign up, you'll get an exclusive offer of £10 for one of our water bottles (usual price £16).

If you're part of an existing STAMMA community, we'll split the funds with your group if your team raises over £500.

Dean's story

"I became a Trustee for STAMMA in 2023 and this is my way of raising awareness and much-needed funds for a charity I believe in so strongly.

'I'm setting a target for myself that I am comfortable with and is achievable, not competing against other people, and I've chosen a distance that will challenge me without being so extreme even the idea of it puts me off starting!

'I'll be out in all weathers, so knowing that other people will be walking too to complete their own challenge will keep me going. Let's all get out and enjoy the outdoors this summer!"
