No one should grow up feeling that their stammer will limit their career, family or future. Help us ensure the next generation won't have to.

Employee Fundraising

Employee fundraising is a brilliant way to bring your team together while helping create a world that makes space for stammering.

Whether you're hosting a bake sale, running a marathon or taking on a workplace challenge, every pound raised helps us support people who stammer and challenge the stigma they face.

We'll support your team every step of the way with fundraising ideas, materials and stories that show the real impact of their efforts. Together, we can build workplaces — and a society — where people who stammer are understood, respected and included.

Easiest win? Jump into one of our challenge events… they're always a hit.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is one of the easiest and most tax‑efficient ways for employees to support STAMMA.

Because the donation is taken from the employees' gross pay, every pound given will only cost them 80p, or 60p if they are a higher rate taxpayer. The individual decides on the amount and which charity/charities should receive it, and then informs their payroll department.

By choosing STAMMA through Payroll Giving, your organisation strengthens its commitment to inclusion and supports our mission to challenge discrimination, provide support and shift public understanding of stammering.

Employers need to set up a relationship with a Payroll Giving Agency. These are registered charities regulated by HMRC. The cost of setting up the scheme to the employer is minimal, as is the continued administration of the scheme.

Benefit to charity

  • Provides a reliable income stream.
  • Payroll donors are likely to continue giving for some time, enabling charities to plan for the future.
  • Potential employer matching.

Benefit to Employers

  • Improves Corporate Social Responsibility and raises Corporate Community Investment profile.
  • Boosts employee morale and sense of team-building; "my company was responsible for donating a total of £xx to charity this year" and can aid staff retention.
  • Aids recruitment; many young people want to know about the social responsibility and ethical profile of businesses.
  • Any money the company gives is tax-deductible.
  • Can be awarded a Payroll Giving Quality Mark certificate and be eligible to apply for the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards.

Fund a Workstream

Funding a STAMMA workstream is a powerful way for your organisation to make a direct, measurable difference.

We'd love to tell you about our workstreams, which include:

  • Minecraft Club for kids.
  • Family Support.
  • Advocacy.
  • Employment Support.
  • Helpline Services.
  • Space to Stammer campaign.
  • Research.

By sponsoring a specific area of our work, you can:

  • drive long‑term change in public attitudes
  • support people who stammer at key moments in their lives
  • demonstrate your organisation's commitment to equity, accessibility and social impact.

We'll work with you to identify a workstream that aligns with your values and provide updates, impact reporting and opportunities for staff engagement.

Pick Us as Your Charity of the Year

Choosing STAMMA as your Charity of the Year is a meaningful way to unite your organisation behind a cause that transforms lives.

Stammering affects millions of people, yet misconceptions and discrimination remain widespread. Your support helps us challenge those attitudes, provide vital services and empower people who stammer to be heard.

As your Charity of the Year partner, we'll offer:

  • a dedicated contact to support your fundraising and engagement
  • inspiring stories and resources to share with staff
  • opportunities for volunteering, awareness sessions and workplace talks
  • a tailored programme of activities to keep your team motivated throughout the year.

Together, we can create lasting change — in your workplace and across the UK.

If you'd like to talk with us about any of these things, email fundraising@stamma.org
