Here's a list of things you can get involved with on and around International Stammering Awareness Day (ISAD), 22nd October.

The ISAD Online Conference

Throughout October

Every year throughout the month of October, the ISAD online conference brings together people who stammer, parents, therapists, researchers and friends from all over the world. It's a website where you can read articles and research papers, and link up with professionals. The theme this year is 'Shades of Stuttering: What's Yours?'

STAMMAFest online check-in & catch-up

Mon 19th Oct, 7-9pm

Did you attend STAMMAFest 2026 in August? If so, are you missing the camaraderie? 

Come and join host Bob Adams on Zoom for a chance to catch up with other STAMMAFest attendees online. Check in and share how you've been getting on since our conference, get reinvigorated and recapture some of that STAMMAFest magic.

Family Fun Event, Cleethorpes

Thurs 22nd Oct, 6:30-9pm

Join the Lincolnshire Stammering Support Group as they celebrate ISAD with an evening of creative art making.

No previous experience with art is needed, materials will be provided, as will homemade cakes and refreshments.

Arts and craft materials, including paper, paint, pencils, scissors and paintbrushes

Stammering on screen festival

London, Fri 23rd Oct, 6-8:30pm

City Lit are putting on a transformative evening showcasing films and film makers who are featuring, representing and normalising stammering through their creative work for screen.

Threads of conversation art workshop

Elstree, Sat 24th Oct, 3-5:30pm

This Arty Place is hosting a family-friendly creative art workshop inspired by the theme, 'Shades of Stuttering: What's Yours'.

You don't need to stammer to join, and no previous art experience is required. Proceeds go to STAMMA.

Empowering Voices free course

Bath, 5th-7th Nov

To mark International Stammering Awareness Day on 22 October 2026, Empowering Voices is offering its Bath course free of charge (except accommodation).
