Our Speech Lab

Sections

Helping you build accessible communication channels for people with speech disabilities.

People with speech disabilities face barriers every day, where even the simplest transaction can be a nightmare, whether face to face or over the phone. And where employers simply have no sight or understanding of what it means to have a speech disability, leading to lost talent, reduced productivity and legal exposure under the Equality Act.

The Speech Lab helps organisations fix this. We work alongside companies to redesign customer journeys, phone systems, recruitment processes and workplace culture.

Through diagnostic reviews, co‑authored policy change, lived‑experience panels, bespoke resources and tailored adjustments, we can help you build accessible communication that improves outcomes, reduces risk and ensures every voice is heard.

We offer:

All‑Inclusive Programmes

  • 360 Accessibility Lab — A co‑authored transformation programme combining lived experience insight, policy review and process redesign to make customer and employee procedures genuinely accessible for people who stammer or have speech disabilities.
  • 360 Accessibility Lab Plus — A full organisational accessibility partnership, adding strategic visibility planning across your website, social media, LinkedIn and sector channels to embed inclusive practice internally and externally.

Individual Consultancy Components

  • Customer‑Focused Accessibility Lab — End‑to‑end redesign of customer journeys, including communication accessibility, speech‑inclusive service interactions, fraud and verification processes, call‑handling, and IVR/AI flows.
  • Colleague‑Focused Accessibility Lab — Inclusive recruitment and interviewing, disclosure frameworks (The Tell, The Throw and The Catch®), workplace adjustments, leadership practice, and speech‑inclusive meeting culture.
  • Diagnostic Review — A structured assessment identifying critical touchpoints, risks and opportunities across customer and employee processes.
  • Lived‑Experience Webinars — Expert‑led sessions featuring lived‑experience panels to build understanding, shift culture and support operational change.
  • Bespoke Video Resources — Tailored short‑form video content to embed accessible communication practice across teams.
  • Bespoke Guides & Information — Clear, role‑specific guidance outlining scenarios, risks and recommended adaptations.
  • Interactive Digital Training Packages — STAMMA provides specialist content; your organisation builds the digital learning environment to scale inclusive practice.

The economy is losing money every month due to inaccessibility to disabled people. Banks/building societies lose £935 million, supermarkets lose £501 million, and high street shops lose £267 million.
