Free Practice Interviews, from 50 Million Voices
The organisation 50 Million Voices invites you to apply for its practice interview event this May, whether you are an interviewee or interviewer. *Applications deadline: Monday 11th April*.
Interviews are a difficult and stressful workplace hurdle that everyone has to face, especially so if you stammer.
50 Million Voices Founder Iain Wilkie says, "People who stutter often experience bias in interviews that favour spoken fluency over substance. They also face difficult decisions about whether or not, and how, to disclose their stutter.
'It's a 'lose-lose' situation. People who stutter miss out on the right roles for their talents while employers miss out on talented employees. This is where our Practice Interview Event comes in."
Judgement-free practice
Supported by leading employers Compass, EY, Michael Page, Reach and TSB Bank, 50 Million Voices is providing free interview practice for those who stammer — as well as for those interviewing them. It's an opportunity to practice in a judgement-free environment and learn from people who really want you to succeed.
You can choose the scenario — it could be a practice interview for a new job, a promotion, or any other work situation where you're expected to answer or ask questions under pressure.
Apply whether you stammer or you don't
If you stammer, you can participate as an interviewee or an interviewer to improve your skills in either role. If you don't stammer, and work in HR, Diversity & Inclusion or Talent Attraction, or your role includes interviewing people, you can participate as an interviewer.
Interviewees who stutter must be age 18 upwards and interviewers age 25 upwards.
