The Chat: Author Helen Rutter
Join us for a free live interview and discussion with the author of a new children's book about a boy who stammers.
This World Book Day, STAMMA Trustee Betony Kelly will be interviewing author Helen Rutter about her big-hearted and poignant debut children's book 'The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh'. Afterwards there'll be a break out room where you'll get the chance to join a discussion with Helen and other attendees.
The book, published by Scholastic, is about an 11-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a stand-up comic but worries that his stammer might make this impossible. Helen Rutter wrote the book to inspire her own son, who stammers. We'll be asking her all about her experiences of being a parent of a child who stammers, and how living with a stammer should never prevent a child from pursuing their dreams. We'll also be putting your questions to Helen.
This event has taken place but you can watch the whole chat with Helen below.
