New Patron James Davies

6th September 2022

We are thrilled to introduce our new Patron, the osteopath James Davies, who has treated many top celebrities. Read about James and watch our interview with him below.

The A-listers' osteopath, James Davies joined our illustrious list of Patrons today. James is the founder and CEO of Rising Health, having started the company by himself over a decade ago. James works with some of the world's most renowned athletes, actors and musicians including David Beckham, Kylie Minogue, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Philip Schofield, and Marvin and Rochelle Humes.

James said, "I am honoured that STAMMA has asked me to be a Patron. This means so much to me as I want to build awareness of stammering so it is accepted as just a difference, and also enable access to therapies for those who want them".

Read all about James and how he found success in his career, in an article he wrote for us: 'I'm living proof that anything is possible'.

We also interviewed James for a two-part video which you can watch below. In it, local group leader and STAMMA Youth Panel member Bhupinder Purewal asked him about growing up with a stammer, how it affected his career choice, what it's like working with top celebrities and about his book 'Body: Simple techniques and strategies to heal, reset and restore', published by HQ, which is out now.

Jane Powell, CEO, said, "We are delighted to welcome James as a Patron of STAMMA. In his interview above, James talks about spending 25 years feeling that he was in the wilderness, that no-one would understand what he was going through. And that still is the reality for millions of people across the globe. They face a world where there is no space, no adjustment, not acceptance of their stammer.

James joins our list of patrons including rapper and actor Scroobius Pip, former Scotland rugby captain Kelly Brown, the poet Owen Sheers, authors David Mitchell and Margaret Drabble, former politician and broadcaster Ed Balls, Baroness Janet Whitaker and producer and writer Jonty Claypole. See our full list of patrons on our Who We Are page.
