A researcher from AECC University College invites women who stammer to take part in a study to explore the experiences of women who stammer and its impact.

Masters student Nicoletta Orioni says, "Women who stammer are known as a 'minority within a minority'. With fewer women contributing to studies, womens' experiences have become underrepresented in stammering research. It is suggested that stammering is a clinical area whereby speech therapists lack confidence in their work. Therefore, a better understanding of the lived experiences of women who stammer may encourage a more holistic approach to therapy".

What will it involve?

Nicoletta is looking to interview women to discuss your experiences of stammering. It should last around 45 minutes to an hour. Depending on where you live, the interview can be either in-person on via Microsoft Teams. All interviews will be recorded for data analysis.

You need to be aged 18+ and have stammered since childhood to take part.
