Birmingham Support Group For Children Who Stammer

Section

A new group in Birmingham for children aged 7-11 who stammer and their families.

This group has been set up by speech & language therapist Katy, who says, "Our group is where children can come to make new friends, have fun, build their confidence and learn more about stammering.

'We'll be watching videos together, doing quizzes, myth-busting, having informal talks with parents and there'll be lots of time to play games. I am really hoping that as we get new members they can shape the content."

More details

The group meets fortnightly on Fridays, 4:30pm to 6:30pm, in the Birmingham area.

If you'd like to be part of it, contact Katy by phone on 07918 495569 or email her at happytalkers1@gmail.com

Katy adds: "Is your child nervous about coming to a group session? If so, give us a call there are lots of things we can do to help children who are a little worried about coming".

This group has agreed to follow the STAMMA Code of Conduct, devised to make sure each community is safe, effectively-run, well-supported, and in line with STAMMA's vision and mission. If you'd like to find out more, email communities@stamma.org
